However, first, we want to thank you all for your support – for your prayers, your encouragement, your attendance last week, your donations of time, talent and treasure. It is an understatement to say that the Fiesta Banquet was simply a “success”. It was so much more! We have never been more encouraged! But rather than try to put this into words ourselves, we found this comment from one of our volunteers summed everything up perfectly:
What a night! I don’t know that I can explain the pride, the humility and the honor that swelled in my heart tonight. I was in awe at what was created. I was honored that I had any part. Sometimes when I think on the story of the Good Samaritan, I wonder what those passersby really thought. It is easy to throw stones at them, the proverbial “bad guys”, but I secretly wonder if maybe they were much more like you and me. I wonder if they might have truly been thinking things such as “I wish I could help, but I don’t know how”, “I would stop, but my plate is already so full with my responsibilities”, or “someone should really do something for that poor man.” I know it would probably be my response. I think that is why I am so amazed. I feel so blessed to have been able to support a group of women who saw a need and did not stand idly by saying “What a shame! Someone should really do something about that!” They are making it happen. And today was an amazing, beautiful, inspiring step in that direction. – Catherine Christensen
you to be involved, so make sure that you are signed up on our contact form.
Did you fill it out? Good, because you don’t want to miss any of the exciting details coming up as we prepare our new home for our future moms and children. We will have plenty of updates and requests for help over the next months, and having you connected to through our contact form is essential.
But we can only move forward because of the generous support of our donors last Thursday night. We are overwhelmed by the generosity of this community, by the many individuals, churches, organizations, and ministries who came together to support this effort.
Together, we raised $124,770!!!
WOW!!! Thank you, Brazos Valley, for your generous support! We are blown away by the generosity of this community, and are excited to move forward in our ministry, with your enthusiastic support.
We are thrilled at the amount we raised, but are still about $40,000 short of our annual budget. If you did not get to donate at the event and would like to, please visit our website donation page here.
Nevertheless, we now begin in full confidence to prepare the opening of the Maternity Home in January, 2015! Because of your generous support, we will fill the staff positions that are crucial to the success of our home. We can prepare the home we have selected to be a safe, beautiful, comforting and encouraging place for our mothers and children.
In the next several days, we will post the outlines of our presentation as well as the video from the banquet. Please share these with your family and friends so they can learn of our good work here in the Brazos Valley!
Once again, we’d like to thank the following people and businesses who made the banquet possible:

Our Keynote Speaker, Claire Culwell, was simply stunning. During her presentation, every eye was riveted to the stage. The honest, raw truth of her story opened our hearts to reality of abortion, adoption and the difficult choices that affect women and families. Thank you Claire! You are a treasure!
